Today I made coffee, milked goats fed chickens and fed and watered the rabbits. I made cheese omelets for the family, and
straightened the kitchen. I went to a
SBDC meeting. Went from there to the
Vigo County Annex for the business. I went to our local Insurance agent to discuss the storm damage and lack of action. I came home and made 3 batches of soap. I corrected an error on the website. I made dinner for the children. I also wrapped some bars of soap and blended the liquid soap wife was making before she left for work.
I managed to play my online game some between chores and to break up fights between the children.
The children. The tornado that hit our house a week ago last Friday, had a profound effect on the children. One asked every evening before be if there is going to be a tornado. In her prayers she thanks God for keeping us safe through the tornado. The smallest one still isn't back to her regular sleep pattern since the storm. The oldest{7} seems to be dealing
ok with it but I can tell that he still thinks about it.
Our lives. Our lives have been disrupted by the tornado, Obviously, but the system of dealing with emergencies by the insurance community has been a life lesson in patience. We have done all we can to limit the cost of this event and to minimize the damages, but it seems as though we are rowing up stream on this. Our local insurance agent is a great guy, but I am having less than favorable feeling towards the company he works for.
I found myself
uncomfortable this evening looking at a rain front moving in. I thought about where the emergency things were and the process. I thought to call my wife, but it was just rain. I guess the tornado effected me more than I realized. I was asked the other day if I needed any money in the form of a donation, and I declined because we really aren't out any money right now. I thought about it later that we are doing
ok, but what price do you put on having your home in one piece?
I thank God for keeping us Safe though this event and I pray for
understanding and patience. I pray for healing of my family.
